Deirdrea McCloskey is a Distinguished Professor of Economics, History, English, and Communication at the University of Illinois at Chicago and Professor of Economic History, Gothenburg University, Sweden.  The author of sixteen books and roughly 400 scholarly papers, Her most recent book is Bourgeois Dignity: Why Economics Can’t Explain the Modern World, which is part of a six-volume series on “the Bougeois Era.”
