PPE Society @ Carolina Presents: Film Screening and Discussion: The Queen of Versailles

November 16, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The PPE Society at Carolina presents The Ethics of Affluence

a film screening and discussion of The Queen of Versailles
Thursday, November 16      6:00pm-8:20pm      Caldwell 103

Join the UNC Politics, Philosophy and Economics Society to discuss the ethics of affluence – a critically important topic in an age of inequality – in the context of an award-winning film. The Queen of Versailles is Lauren Greenfield’s 2012 film on one of the wealthiest families in America. In it, billionaires and parents of 8 David Siegel (CEO of Westgate Resorts) and Jackie Siegel (model) are set to build the largest house in America – their “Versailles” – until the 2008 financial crash. After viewing the film, we will discuss ethics in context with Tamara Fakhoury, a PhD candidate from the UNC Department of Philosophy.

Pizza will be served.
