Suwon is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science. Her research interests include victimhood, structural injustice, human rights, and transitional justice. She primarily focuses on the role of victims in resisting structural injustice and the various forms of their resistance. Before coming to UNC, she received a B.A. in Human Rights Studies and Economics and an M.A. in Political Science from Seoul National University.
