Jean Parvin Bordewich: Saving Democracy

Jean Parvin Bordewich has spent her life in and around politics, including 20 years as a Congressional staff member. At the William and Flora Hewlett Foun­dation in California today, she works with non-profits to strengthen democracy in the U.S., focusing on Congress. Before joining Hewlett in 2014, she served for more than five years as staff director of the U.S. Senate Committee on Rules and Administration, the committee which oversees the operations of the Sen­ate, legislative branch agencies and presidential inaugurations. Earlier in her ca­reer, Jean was elected to three terms as a councilwoman in New York’s Hudson Valley, ran for Congress in 1998, and was a delegate to two national Presidential nominating conventions.
