Transatlantic Forum for Education and Diplomacy: The Future of Diplomacy

March 27, 2019 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Please join us Wednesday, March 27th, in the Morehead Lounge at 5:30pm to discuss the obstacles confronting diplomacy. Established international institutions and norms face destabilizing challenges on the world stage; the value of diplomacy is itself being questioned. Ambassadors Anthony Quainton and W. Robert Pearson will address these trends and explore the future role of diplomacy in fostering international stability and implementing US foreign policy.

Ambassador Quainton has served as the US Ambassador to the Central African Republic, Nicaragua, Kuwait, and Peru; Ambassador Pearson has served as the US Ambassador to Turkey. Both have previously served as the Director-General of the US Foreign Service.

This event is free and open to the public.

Ambassador Quainton will host an informal lunch to discuss his various ambassadorial postings and to share advice about careers in Foreign Service with the US State Department. Please stop by the Morehead Lounge anytime between 12:00 and 2:30pm on Wednesday, March 27th, to join him in conversation. Snacks provided.
