Talk: Cristina Bicchieri

“I Am So Angry I Am Going To Help You”

Professor Bicchieri works at the borders between philosophy, game theory and psychology.  She is the author of The Grammar of Society: the Nature and Dynamics of Social Norms (2006), Rationality and Coordination (1993), and  Ragioni per Credere, Ragioni per Fare (1988) and an editor of The Logic of Strategy, with R. Jeffrey and B. Skyrms (1999), The Dynamics of Norms, with R. Jeffrey and B. Skyrms (1997), and Knowledge, Belief, and Strategic Interaction, with M.L. Dalla Chiara (1992).  She currently has grants from the Templeton Foundation for “Autonomy and Liberalism, an Interdisciplinary Search for the Ideal Society” and from UNICEF to develop a training program on “Advances in Social Norms and Social Change.”

This lecture is co-sponsored by the Duke and UNC programs in Philosophy, Politics & Economics, and is generously funded by the Langman Family Foundation and a Kenan-Biddle grant whose purpose is to promote intellectual exchange between UNC Chapel Hill and Duke University.
